Khmelnitsky 5 refers to a nuclear reactor plant located in Khmelnitsky, west Ukraine. It can generate 1,200MW, and the goal is to complete the construction in time to begin the first power generation by 2030, reports said.

The owner of the nuclear reactor is Energoatom-owned. Energoatom is a Ukrainian energy production company. The power production company plans to inject mass resources and technologies to complete the project.

Zaporizhzhia Used To Be Ukraine’s Main Source of Electricity

Before Russia attacked Ukraine, the Zaporizhzhia power plant was the country’s main power source.
The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) is investing nearly $1 billion to repair, improve, and modernize Ukraine’s energy infrastructure. This initiative, part of the Securing Power, Advancing Resilience and Connectivity (SPARC) project, focuses on enhancing the resilience, reliability, affordability, and security of Ukraine’s electric power, natural gas, and district heating sectors.
